Cat apps are a sure shot way to enhance your cat’s agility and playfulness. In this post let’s discuss 8 purrfect cat apps that do just that.
In a previous post on how to choose the perfect scratching post for your cat.
We discussed how cats have evolved from a wild environment to our domesticated households. While they have for sure vitalized our homes, it very important for us to do our part.
Which is being responsible for the controlled expression of their inherent wild nature.
Cat toys and cat apps are a perfect way to do just that.
Alright with that said without any further ado let’s go ahead and look at 10 purrfect cat apps to keep your kitty entertained and sufficiently exercised.
1. Cat Fishing (Android)
The game was created with the scientific study of a cat’s behavior. Plus it is so easy to operate for the owner and for the cat to perceive what’s going on.
All you need to do is hit start and let you cat catch as many fishes as she can.
The difficult is subjective and increases with active involvement.
2. Game For Cats (Cat Apps For iPad)
The game capitalizes on a cat’s instinct to chase small objects. The base version of the game includes a glowing dot that races across the screen for the cats to chase.and catch it with her paws.
Should you choose to upgrade with an in app purchase you will be able to upgrade from a laser dot to a mouse with an extra butterfly chase patch included as bonus.
The game has a score mechanism so that you can see how your kitty’s score stacks up against other cats.
3. Paint For Cats – iPad ($2)
Once I saw this app, I was immediately able to perceive why cats and their owners would love to get on it.
This unique app combines a cat’s catching instinct with a very creative use of colors.
When your cat tries to catch the mouse the the path she traces gets splatters of paint. So in a way you get a unique art every time your cat tries to catch the mouse.
Pretty unique and creative concept isn’t it ?.
Once your kitty is done chasing the mouse, you will have an option of saving the art thus created with an option to share the art across social media platforms.
What makes the app even more appealing to the cats is the little squeaky sound the mouse makes every time it’s caught.
The paintings are simple but nice souvenirs every time your cat enjoys playing the game and are like a little memory.
4. Catch The Mouse – iOS Devices (1$)
Simple game which does what it says. It’s very similar to paint for cats minus all the artwork.
The app features a squeaking mouse running all over the screen for your cat to spat and bat on.
The game will keep track of how many times the cat caught the mouse and present scores with that respect.
You have the option to customize the backgrounds and the creature itself and that is pretty much what the app is.
As I pointed it out earlier it is one of the simpler cat apps that does the task in a neat way.
5. Cat Playground – Android Cat App (2.55$)
The best thing about this game is you get a myriad of games in a single app which makes it particularly different from other cat apps.
There are four levels to choose from. Catch a mouse is your typical mouse running all over the screen that squeaks when batted.
Laser chase is your virtual simulation of a moving laser dot. Whack a mouse allows your cat to whack on mouses like a traditional whack a mole game.
Go fishing which I hear is particularly interesting to most cats wherein the app gives active water splashing feedback whenever cat hits the screen.
One of my most recommended apps for cat entertainment.
6. Pocket Pound
We all know about that love that exists in a cat’s eyes for a fish in a pond of a bowl.
It seems that this app capitalizes on that love and gives it a digital form.
As you play the game you can choose to let the waves generated in the pond mesmerize your cat. Or you can introduce fishes and other aquatic life to push your cat into activity and hunting mode.
The thing about this app is this app isn’t designed for cats. You look at the pond space a place wherein you raise koi’s and decorate your water based eco system to your likes.
Or the way you think you cat will like it.
All of this makes the app worth having. Try it and see for yourself here.
Available for both android and iOS devices.
7. Smash Bugs Android and iOS cat apps for Kids and Cats
Well, I was contemplating whether to include this cat app recommendation or not because this game was not designed for cats.
It was designed for kids to learn counting and colors by catching and smashing bugs.
And from what applications the game have seen it seems like cats love the app too.
The concept is same. Bringing cat’s catching and hunting instinct into play and thereby increasing it’s agility.
8. Crazy Cat : One Of The Unique Cat Apps
This app is different from other cat apps in the sense that this allows for diversity in what your cat will see on the screen that she can than bat and spat.
The app provides all kinds of critters that crawl, fly and run all along in a chaotic sense to confuse and activate your cat.
There is a base version with adds and I found it to be a bit laggy.
But the paid one is excellent that allows you to control the critters using Bluetooth making it a fun experience for both owner and of course the cat.
Alright, my lovely cat lovers. That was my one stop collection of best cat apps that you can have to provide entertainment to you cats.
By no means is this an exhaustive list. Because new apps are coming everyday and who knows tomorrow we may have something much better than what we discussed here.
I will make it a point to cover the updated apps that I find here.
Now it’s your time to let me know which among these cat apps do you and your cat enjoy.
Maybe you know a good app that may not have been mentioned here. If that indeed is the case go ahead and comment it out in the comment section below and I will make it a point to include that in the post.
So that other cat owners will then be aware of it.
Take care of yourselves and your cat and I will see in the next one.
